About the Building Allemande Hall’s rustic western cedar porch welcomes dancers and visitors alike. The carpeted foyer and cloak room is a greeting and meeting place for new and old friends. The magnificent 95’ x 65’ main ballroom is superbly sounded and the air-conditioning and heating system is electronically controlled. Quaint brass wall lanterns, a wagon wheel chandelier and indirect overhead lights provide ample light for dancing, and a floating random pine floor adds to the comfort of the dancers.
An interesting feature of the main dance floor in the upper level is the five carpeted loges for spectator use, from which one can see the entire floor from above the dancers. This upper level is also equipped with kitchen and rest room facilities.
Callers, cuers, and dance instructors are delighted with the 8’ x 16’ caller’s stand, which is surrounded by a railing with hand-turned spindles. A moveable caller’s table is provided and spotlights illuminate both the turntable and caller.
The lower floor, somewhat smaller than the main floor upstairs, is unique in its own cozy beauty. It has its own indirect lighting, caller’s platform, kitchen facilities and rest rooms. Allemande Hall is remarkable in that clubs can dance simultaneously in both the upper and lower levels and do not disturb each other.
